How I Began Our Homeschool C0-Op

This is one of my most frequently asked questions! I knew I wanted to be a part of a homeschool co-op for multiple reasons. Mostly for community & to allow Vienna to make friendships & connections while being social with other children her age.

We are in a more remote area & no co-op really existed so I joined a few Facebook groups. One for my town, & one for my states homeschooling community. I made a post on each on what I was looking to start & right away I had so much interest.

After the group of people who were seriously interested was narrowed down (we communicated on Facebook initially but then exchanged numbers) the moms & children decided to meet at a local playground to get to know each other before the first official co-op meeting at my home.

Each Wednesday from 11-3PM I host the group & prepare the snacks, lessons, crafts & activities. However, many co-ops switch off houses & responsibilities so it is totally up to you and what you are comfortable with/ or what the groups goals are!

To begin, I hosted this as a completely free situation however as time went on, I ended up incorporating a fee to cover supplies/food.
