Homemade Bird Feeders 

Supplies needed:

Birdseed

Pure lard

Gelatin

Ribbon or twine

 

The ratio is 1 cup lard, 2 cups seed, 2 tablespoons gelatin

 

Melt your lard in a pan over low heat- add in gelatin & whisk until dissolved.

Turn off heat. Add to birdseed in a large bowl, & mix thoroughly. Place bowl in fridge (or outside if it’s cold) until fat/gelatin is solidified.

 

Form into any shapes you like, if you are using the cookie cutter method to form them, use a straw to poke a hole for string to hang them.
